Red & Green Makes Beautiful - Kale on Red Rice




⤱INGREDIENTS⤱
  • 1 bunch kale, chopped
  • 1 onion (medium to large size), sliced and cut in half once
  • red rice, or any other wild/ full grain type of rice
  • 1 pack haloumi, chopped in fine little pieces
  • 4 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cubed bouillon (any flavor, but vegetable is preferable)
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup sake or white wine
  • optional: chopped chilli + as much garlic as you like


⤱THE WORK⤱

  • boil rice according to instructions
  • boil water and soak the kale in it for several minutes. how long actually depends on how fresh, young your kale is and if you like it crunchy or not. soak longer the more it should be cooked through.
  • heat oil in large pot and sautee onion (plus garlic + chili)
  • mix soy sauce, bouillon, maple syrup, white wine or sake
  • pour over kale and stir on low temperature till kale has your desired constancy.
  • chuck in the haloumi and fold in to mixture.
  • serve kale on red rice.
